国家队 is to be selected from Singapore Open 2008 as indicated in the rules, we should not make any change now and also there is no way to prove that the change is better.

We can change the rules before the games started but not at this 11th hour ..... especially this year, playing host should have higher priority than getting better results, my personal view.

Below is one draft post that highlights a few sentences sent on 27 Aug above but was not sent out yesterday.

due to 2008 U18 冠军 and 2008 Group B 冠军 both are not free (and some other leading players not free too, I heard), the selection of 2008亚洲赛国家少年代表 is from two young players (from the class of young players), they are having 4 games at the moment for this selection. In fact, the next rule should be decided by now if they are having a draw on 12 Sep 2008 for the 4th game, they have equal scores so far for the first 3 games.

This is a good example to explain the selection of players for 2008亚洲赛国家代表 too.

Selection rules should be released before the games started.

One simple rule for 2009 and after ...... e.g. the Top 8 of 全国赛 are qualified for the selection processes, but the processes need to be decided early.

personally, I feel that 团体联赛 (1995 to 2004) was a good team event for building the 团队精神.

Now with the one-day two-round type of team events, people pay less attention to the building of 团队精神. One possible reason could be some team leaders are trying to get enough players for the teams regardless the players are from other teams.

In recent years of such team events, the names of some players appeared in more than one team.

棋会的联系 and 棋手的归属感 were two of the many issues brought up previously in one of the discussion meetings attended by SIXGA and all clubs.

For a better development of Singapore Xiangqi, the summary below could serve as one of the inputs :
