The Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC) in Singapore (https://adsc.illinois.edu/) seeks an Intern for an exciting project working on a safety and security analysis software tool.

XSTAMPP (eXtensible STAMP Platform) is an open-source platform for safety engineering designed specially to serve the widespread adoption and use of Systems-Theoretic Accident Model and Processes (STAMP) methodologies in different areas. XSTAMPP currently includes seven plug-ins.

In this project, the student will develop a plug-in to implement a new analysis method called Systems-Theoretic Likelihood and Severity Analysis (STLSA). The STLSA method for assessing safety and security risk in a system focuses on functional control actions in the system, including humans-in-the-loop, but incorporates semi-quantitative risk assessment based on existing industry practice.

Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Java programming and Eclipse.
- Knowledge in Eclipse Plug-in-Development Environment (PDE) and Rich Client Platform (RCP)
- Experience with GitHub

Other Skills
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Knowledge in Safety engineering will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in Security Risk Assessment will be an added advantage
