EE的Micro Electronics方向的研究前景如何。。？EE的Micro Electronics方向的研究前景如何。。？额，其实我是想问读master和PhD的难度。

各位senior各位同学请了，小弟又来打扰了。

EE的MICRO ELECTRONICS方向，有7个recommended tracks：

MICE1 Device Technology
MICE2 Device & IC Design
MICE3 VLSI design
MICE4 IC Manufacturing
MICE5 Optoelectronics
MICE6 Data Storage Systems
MICE7 BioDevices

小弟想问下每个track的研究前景如何。。额。。其实我是想问哪个track以后比较适合继续读master和PhD，哪个申请难度小一点。。

i am in the area of 1/2/4current research and development in device and manufacturing technology will continue up to year 2020. After that, we definitely need a very different device (not MOSFET anymore).
Before 2020, there is just huge demand for R/D engineers, but the focus is on development, not on research.

Nobody knows what will happen to semiconductor industry after 2020, but it won't die for sure.

if you don't mind staying in singapore, you can apply for postgrad scholarship from Chartered Semiconductor or A*Star. No harm to try and the pay is good. Bond is 2/3 years.
