the purpose of canteen is for people who patronize the food stores. Nobody should reserve the seats with their bags or even themselves without food. I don't see anything wrong with what the ladies behavior. My German advisor and two of his aus students also did that. When the guys who put their bags came back and confronted them, they responce is also simply:" You can join us if you want". Until today, they are still proud of it what they did. I don't know why ppl always want to link this kind of stuff to chinese nationals behavior. This is obvious not ture.
