The Ministry of Manpower said the Lazada layoffs incident clearly demonstrates the success of Singapore's unique model of tripartism. It said an amicable and fair resolution was reached between the affected workers and the e-commerce firm. MOM had stepped in and facilitated discussions, after the firm did not notify the union of its retrenchment exercise.
