我这样的情况，还需要念博士吗？我，本地工科研究生毕业，拿到了新加坡一家美国大公司的offer. 还需要去美国念博士吗？
劝我不要去的朋友说：
1。在新加坡多拿几年工作经验比较好
2。博士5年穷苦日子
3。博士出来只能做科研
劝我去年的朋友说：
1。在公司能做到高位的，通常都在美国有过硕士，博士的经验
2。以本地的学历,中国人的身份，没有美国的学历很难收到提拔
3。我念完博士还年轻，进公司做几年科研完全有可能转去其他部门
我的兴趣：只要以后钱多就可以。因为不管科研还是工作，压力都很大
请各位大哥大姐提提意见阿。

Somewhat true, but generally I have not seen Chinese occupying high positions in Singapore. So it is unclear whether you'll be promoted even with US degree.

Everything is possible, but why do PhD in the first place if you want to jump to non-R&D dept?
