As for the lakes (Nick name)The remotest area is the northwest corner, about 1.5 hours drive from central towns like the three I named previously. There's no concrete definition on which view is more scenic than some others, but generally you get better views by driving up to the several famous mountain passes (or walking up some trails). There's one going from Windermere to Patterdale sitting by Ullswater. Another called Harddock pass near the Great Gable. There are also countless walking options but I don't assume you're very into hillwalking, by British standard.
actually i am into hiking
just that i dont have the luxury of time. maybe i will do some trails in cotswold.
