my opinionmy opinion may only be valid in SOC if you want to do research in future, it's better to do UROP, and try to make your UROP and HYP on the same topic to do something... however, it is irrelevant to writing a piece of software etc... so if you are not going to do research in future, you may consider not doing UROP.
