每年的录取分数线也不会变动很多,这个参考还是蛮准的。

re:中学学校里,IP, SAP, IB, INDEPENDENT这些课程有什么区别?IB是国际学校的路径吧,其他几个是啥?
IP 是直通车,不考 O,6 年连读。
SAP 就是华文特选学校。PSLE 如果有考高级华文的,报这些学校有加分。

ESIS 给头3% 的, 每年一般是261-263
GEP 的进了 IP 就有。

那句话特指小学。。。
中学显然不是。

可以问一下你们孩子考试前有课外补习和刷题吗?我知道你家娃是GEP,想了解一下我们非GEP是不是依靠补习可以考到260以上。 另外去年有个亲戚的娃,从邻里小学262考去RI,今年数学是fail!
从豆豆班“上学”到 PSLE 结束,
从来没有进过补习班半步。
1,2年级时我还能在家里教教他,后来他就不理我了,嫌我说话没有他老师的 Singlish 好听。。。
平时也不刷题。但是 PSLE 前2个月开始刷题,学校给了一大堆往年试卷,自己又到书店买几本结果最后也没做完。
PSLE 的结果是锦上添花,但是我觉得这个过程最有意义的训练了他非常强的自学能力。

多谢分享经验非常同意要养成爱看书的习惯,我同事的孩子学习拔尖的都有这个好习惯。另外就是家长基因和家庭环境很重要。
基因这个太虚了,实在无从说起。
譬如我当年在格致这种地方也是混得风生水起,但是我儿子对数学一点天赋都没有,自己鼓捣鼓捣最多只能在坡各大奥数比赛里拿个铜牌银牌混个脸熟。

但是他对编程兴趣极大,自学 Python,自己去码农圣地 Stack Overflow 问问题找答案,自己去GitHub pull 代码改功能。他的同学都在 discord 上,他就去看 discord API 写个 bot 自动上去聊天。。。相比之下,前些日子 PSLE 考完后他的几个同学也要学编程,还要约着去外面上基础 course。这些小孩成绩都不差,但是自学能力或者动力太差。

所以这6年小学最大的收获,不是PSLE的成绩,而是训练和鼓励他自学能力。领导说如果我也看着人家送他去各种补习,他或许就没有现在这个能力了。

别人都在说基因,层主还是在强调自学能力,哈哈。前段时间有些人在一直在强调补习,其实补习的孩子是走不远的, 有了补习这个拐杖,时间久了很多孩子很难离开这种支撑。 没有自学能力孩子前进就失去了动力。在需要主动的JC A level阶段自学能力的作用就显现出来了。 当然世界之大无奇不有,新加坡其实还有大学补习,当年我看到这些现象真的是有点震惊。
强调基因是那种躺在那里不动就什么都会的感觉。
显然是不对的。我儿子也花了大把的时间,只不过不是在外面补习社,而是自己在琢磨罢了。

DSA 现在只要文体特长生,或者奥数奥科的前几名,
GEP 已经没有 DSA 优待了。

你们家是不是有码农。。像我家如果娃自学编程简直不敢想象,觉得还是要有家里气氛的熏陶(嗯。。还是基因。。)? 求教下怎么引导娃读书,几岁开始引导比较合适哈~~
有 ex-码农。
不过家里并没有编程的氛围。。。

读书需要引导的,老是看图片也不行,适当的时候引导小朋友接触文字内容。

但是考虑了一下交通方便性,还是让他去 RI。
反正那 +2 也不需要了。
家里去华中要倒腾3趟车,忒不方便。
