not hard to find a job, especially with some project experience, but for fresh graduates might be a bit difficult, as most of ES development job require at least 2 or 3 yrs experience. It will be very helpful if you do IA in this industry.
In term of starting pay i guess the two will be similar. depends more on the company u choose (or choose you :)
I am currently doing embeded system job. mostly use low level languages, like assembly language,C,C++. may require some hardware knowledge,like microprocessor,interfacing.
