as one of the xiangqi individual events, others told me that 44 players completed all 9 rounds is a good show but we had 49 players completed all 9 rounds in 2006.
Possible reason -- the registration was closed more than one month before the competition, after more than a month, 5 players could not turn up at the competition, if this factor is taken into for consideration, then the turn out could be considered as good as in 2006.
to provide buffet dinners and to give token presents should not be considered the standard requirements, this is the reasons why we only released the news (buffet dinner) near the competition or even wait until the last day (token presents).
Future competitions if any, we will limit the number to 56 players, the same number so far for 2nd and 3rd Bishan Cups, if using the same venue.
