Before this tournament, I 've never played with him before.I lost to him in the third round. It's a pity for me that I didn't treat him seriously at the beginning of the game. However, he did play very well. Congrats to him again!
Yan Ting Yu is also a singaporean from a private school. He went to Taiwan for further weiqi study several years ago. It's the first time I 'd ever heard him. It's a pity again that I didn't have a chance to play with him in this tournament. He is quite steady and careful and his calculation is very accurate. He beat some good players like Su Sheng(5th,HCJC), Gong Tianxia (3rd, NUS), Tan Yi Fan(6th, NUS), and met Lai Ziyi in the last round. Most of us thought the champion would be his, we were surprisingly wrong!!
Gong Tianxia, a girl from Sichuan Province of China, is a 1st year from SOC of NUS. Her first eye-catching appearance resulted from the second CSC Sports Festival. In the first round, she beat an arrogant NUS varsity player, who participated in this game for the first time and would go straight for the champion. To everybody's surprise, Gong won the game by the lest advantage, 0.5 MU. After that, she overcame the intensive resistance from other two players and won the champion.
