tech vs. infineon. 我该选哪一个？Junior真心求助我是今年刚刚毕业的，读EEE， major Electronics。现在拿到两个offer。实在不知道选哪一个好，所以来这里，希望各位senior给我一些指点。我先谢谢大家。
先说一下这两个工作大概做什么吧。
TECH, semiconductor company,我选的position是 SPC, statistical process control,属于quality/reliablity assurance department.这份工作和我得专业基本上没有什么关系。我已经参加了一天的pre-employment orientation，和team里面的人相处很愉快。
它的好处是，工作还算轻松，都是一些在office里面用电脑的工作，不要整天跑clean room。不好的地方是，可能有一点boring，因为都是重复同样的东西，R&D的成分很少很少。
待遇方面，薪水不低，而且OT有钱。至于其他的福利，我还不太了解。希望知道的senior能够透露一点。
INFINEON，我选得职位是VLSI design，和专业比较有关。
它的好处是，工作比较有挑战性。不好的地方就是可能会有点辛苦，我毕竟只是本科毕业，做R&D知识不够，肯定要一边工作一边自学。
我对这家公司了解并不多。所以希望senior能多说一点。特别是待遇方面。 :P
我选择工作有这样几个条件，不知道对不对，也请senior指点一下。
首先，这份工作有没有前途，我希望我从事的行业还有很大的发展空间。还是很喜欢engineer的工作，所以刚开始的时候辛苦一点没有关系。
其次，我希望这份工作起点能够高一点。因为我觉得从高处跳去低处很容易，而反过来就很难。而且第一份工作对我来说很重要。
再次，我希望待遇好一点，我就是个大俗人啊。我努力工作，也是为了可以让自己和家人过好的生活。
当然，希望工作的环境要好，毕竟身体是革命的本钱啊。至于人际关系，我对我自己这方面的能力还比较有自信。
以前做学生的时候，只想着读书，想着玩。没有工作这方面的经验。现在有点不知道何去何从了。而且我的很多想法太理想化。希望各位senior，各位达人给我一点指点。拍砖也欢迎，轻点就行。我在这里先谢谢大家了。[uppermoon (5-29 14:02, Long long ago)]

Tech to Infinion
strengths,
Better pay. More stability than Infinion.
weaknesses,
More politics.
opportunities,
You can move on to lots of roles from quality deparment. Hugh potential to grow.
threats
If semiconductor moves to China, it is a threat(or opportunity)
Infinion to Tech
strengths,
You can use your technical interest better. VLSI Design is a top-notch job.
weaknesses,
Small exposure to business
opportunities,
You can specialize to becomes a know-how in IC design
threats
Infinion had lots of changes. (German does not thing Semiconductor is in its pie, so Infinion was spinned off from Siemens AG, and recently, it dropped another spin-off to be called Qimonda, being an Asia company.) I think you can learn lots of politics in Infinion too.

But will it continue its germany root, or be Asianized?
If it continues its german root, Central R&D will be in Germany. And your chance of getting helo in organization is extremely limited.

这个position指明了要fresh gradtraining是一定有...)It is good for a fresh Grad to apply a position specifying fresh Grad welcomedThat usually comes with a better series training and coaching.
It also gives you a lower expectation at the start, and gives some room to make mistakes. Your boss will pay some attention to develop you, rather than using you to make results immediately.

英飞凌可能比较不错基本上看你的介绍应该是EE的，而且可能是VLSI lab的。 半导体fab的SPC基本上是运用一些统计学的methodology去监控和检测制程的稳定性。如果EE，特别是IC design背景去这个部门的话，EE的东西就用不到了。 Tech应该月薪4000以上不是问题，如果平时愿意加加班的话，应该更多。看看Tech的停车场，就可以知道待遇不错，很多新人进公司两三年就买车了。 在Tech做的话，你必须考虑在30岁左右的瓶颈问题。基本上，如果这时候你一直做下去的话，可能再往后转型就比较难了；可是不转的话，一直做SPC可能你会觉得比较无聊。Tech平时工作压力应该比英飞凌大，比较demanding。 当然如果你比较喜欢稳定舒适的生活的话，也许也是一个不错的选择。 英飞凌起薪应该属于一般的市场的薪水范围。但是VLSI design的将来的职业发展没有什么限制。可以做一两年觉得有兴趣的话，读个master或phd，然后继续走技术性的生涯规划。要是觉得对技术没什么兴趣的话，也可以做几年到FAB跟design house接口的部门做customer engineer,或是在design house做跟fab接轨的部门。 基本上，做过design house的跳到Fab基本问题不大，但是做SPC跳到design house或是其他跟EE有关的技术性工作就比较困难了。 大体来说，前5年是在Tech做Fab高；但5年以后有5年design house经验的薪水很可能超过fab。 [不系舟 (5-29 21:14, Long long ago)] [ 传统版 | sForum ][登录后回复]9楼

计划不如变化快挑你工作感兴趣的，先不要过早考虑其余因素如金钱等。
对工作本身(非工作地点、非工作报酬、非工作夥伴、非工作地位等)的兴趣是永恒的内在动力，也是财富权势地位的根本来源。[梅花宝剑 (5-29 22:20, Long long ago)]

至于tech的工作环境，面试的时候他们不断的问起，介不介意OT。和一些staff吃饭的时候，一个engineer说“我昨天走得好早，8点多就回去了。”我当时差点噎到。工作虽然不难，不要求太高的技术含量，但是这样的OT也是够折磨人。
至于现在不去读书。很多因素的考虑。比如，是不是一辈子做技术工作。女孩子以后总是要照顾家里多一点，会不会转行去比较轻松的行业。当然也有经济方面的原因。

不过vp人很好啊，让她的PA送我去地铁站。
