Cosco's transformation from a leader in low-profit ship repairs to shipbuilding (learn from S. Korea) and marine engineering (learn from Singapore) allows it to reduce dependence on ship repairs.
If they were to rely on ship repairs alone, they would be in the red. Cosco has been cutting down on ship repairs, which brings far lesser profits than shipbuilding and marine engineering.
Their order books are still filled up to 2012. Despite cancellations and timeline variations for shipbuilding, there is no need for them to get any more contracts.
