The role of the China Associate, New Products-APAC is to work in partnership with the China Product Manager to support the investigation of new products in the Greater China region. This position reports directly to the China Product Manager. The focus is on supporting the key steps in the product investigation process. This is an intern/part time role.
Key Responsibilities
• Schedule interviews and meetings with senior executives, academics, and industry experts to assist product creation efforts, with both established contacts and through self identified lead generation
• Conduct secondary research on the executives, their responsibilities and organizational structures using public and proprietary resources
• Track institutional and industry trends and executive changes within member/prospect portfolio
• Track progress against interview and meeting schedule, while documenting results of interviews, surveys, and required follow-ups
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
• Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing one
• Mandarin as a first language and fluent in English
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage a senior audience
• Strong knowledge of Chinese business culture(s)
• Goal and action orientated, with ability and desire to work towards targets within a meritocratic environment
• High level of comfort with cold calling and determination when following-up with both prospects and members (i.e., comfort with and persistence when overcoming prospect objections)
• Persistence, drive, and ability to work proactively
• Ability to work either independently or in a team environment, depending on the task at hand
